Advantech believes that the Ku-band products that it can now offer in 50W, 100W and 250W are the World's smallest. Due to the margins that their designers have been able to reserve between the operational and maximum specified parameters for the core devices (such as operating temperature and voltages) the reliability of the new products is also extremely impressive. The MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), when compared to equivalent GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) products, is greatly increased to over 80,000 hours. "Advantech prides itself on bringing the latest technologies to market," stated Vagan Shakhgildian, President and Chief Operating Officer of Advantech, "after much research and development, we can now say that we have harnessed the power of this technology and can deliver the benefits to our customers."
