The later part of the review describes the features of the Panasonic TX-P 42 S 10 in detail. The multimedia capabilities of the TV are limited to the playback of AVCHD camcorder videos and JPEG photos from an SD card. The test team was disappointed about the absence of a swivel stand and internet capabilities or even extended picture settings. The “Eco” mode of the Televisions allows for sustained brightness during daylight in direct correlation to the ambient light. The power consumption here is nothing to talk about with the TX-P 42 S 10 drawing 100 watts during darker scenes and a whopping 300 watts during the bright ones. The 42 inch Plasma incorporates the 400Hz motion enhancing technology for sharper picture during camera pans. The remote control and the menu with the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) impressed the reviewers all around. The test team recommends the “Normal” preset for a decent picture output. A few tweaks are also recommended to derive an optimum picture like reducing the sharpness and setting the “Colour Balance” to warm. The test team recommends sensible adjustments to the Normal preset which provides a picture that surpasses quality of every Plasma TV in the class. The test team was satisfied with the “Intelligent Frame Creation” technology that leads to excellent motion clarity. The reviewers found the Panasonic Plasma to have convincing colour colours in spite of the slight colour-space extension. The screen brightness of the screen stands no chance in comparison to contemporary LCD TV. But dark environments allow the TX-P 42 S 10 to display its full potential. 24p reproduction is accurate and the film judder is present. The sound from the speakers is stress-free but still disappointing. The review then provides a set of ideal settings for the TV that were derived by the test team at the in-house test theatre for displaying HDTV/Blu-ray signal via an HDMI interface in darkened environments. Florian Friedrich said: “The Panasonic TX-P 42 S 10 Full HD Plasma TV is an ideal buy for home-cinema enthusiasts who want a cheap yet feature rich Plasma TV.” ### Contact Information: Click here to read the full story: Televisions.com Reviews the Panasonic Tx-P 42 S 10 |
